Ash, Hellberg & van Rooyen is a leading chartered accountancy firm that provides auditing, accounting, taxation, estate planning, management and training. We are located in Suite 2 of The Mews in the beautiful Redlands Estate, Pietermaritzburg.
We strive to become a strong regional player and, through our network, offer superb client service across the entire financial and business spectrum.
We place strong emphasis on the quality of our service and are guided by the pillars of the accounting profession, namely:
- Professional competence and due care;
- Client confidentiality; and
- Professional behavior.
Our hands on approach is of utmost importance to us. Our overriding intention is to provide a high quality, value for money service, including a high allocation of partner and manager time, reflecting the importance we attach to delivering a personalized, professional service.
Our firm has a commitment to quality, integrity and personal service. Our management team has substantial professional expertise, as well as a shared philosophy of providing cost-effective quality services timely.
The firm commenced on 1 March 1998 when Bryan Ash and Martin Hellberg launched their own practice. With Bryan coming from a public practice background for his entire formative career coupled with Martin’s commercial experience and big firm background, we started with great expectations, initially with the two partners and five staff members.
We have grown steadily and currently have three partners and twenty eight staff members. With the advent of more staff and an additional partner, the firm has been able to expand its ability to service clients on a full range of financial and business aspects, in addition to the traditional model of auditing, accounting and tax. The introduction of Jacques van Rooyen on 1 March 2010 and Bryan’s passion for financial services has enabled the firm to evolve into the following major areas.
|Accounting, Auditing, Tax and
|Training and Project Consulting|
|The above disciplines remain the core functions of the firm. Martin and Jacques oversee our capable team of SAICA, SAIPA and ACCA trainees, ensuring we continue to offer a very professional level of service.||Jacques’ technical and academic background makes him adept at presenting training courses and developing training material across a broad range of accounting and auditing topics.
His practical background in provincial and municipal government work has afforded him the opportunity to conduct ad hoc projects in various areas of financial management.
Although there are different focus areas, we believe the combination of all 3 partners creates a formidable and unique blend that will ensure that the best service and quality is maintained in our firm. We believe in our staff and our abilities as a firm to grow in the future and continue to give personalised and professional services.
