Bryan is a qualified Chartered Accountant and completed his articles at a local medium sized firm. Having qualified in 1983, he stayed on as a manager with them until November 1986. He joined Marwick Gould & Company and upon becoming a partner in March 1988, the firm became Marwick Gould & Ash. Bryan was a partner there for exactly 10 years, where after Bryan and Martin Hellberg began the firm Ash and Hellberg.
While spending more than 3 decades in the traditional accounting, tax and estate planning disciplines, Bryan developed a keen interest in investments and financial services.
This led to the establishment of Ash and Hellberg Financial Services with Steve Carstens about 17 years ago. In recent years Bryan has specialised in this field, while still leading in his other specialised field, wills and deceased estates.
Bryan loves being in the bush, whether over weekends or for holidays and spends as much time as is possible walking in the bush. This has led him to develop an interest in birding. Whilst still claiming to be a novice, he hopes to become more proficient at this hobby in the future. As a devoted Christian, Bryan is very involved in a local Church. Although this takes up a lot of time, he feels it is of paramount importance.
